Travel on the Horizon

It's been some time since I made a blog entry on this site having recorded our Camino experiences elsewhere on Caminotime. Geoff retired last May 1st and has waited for Annemarie to join him to share in the freedom and fun and things are finally beginning to happen on that front. While Geoff has been off running around, walking across Spain and kayaking on the west coast of Canada, Annemarie has being quietly preparing to retire and will depart her long career effective Jan 30/15...4.5 short months from now. We both feel strongly that it is important to have something to retire to that sets the tone for the years to come. For Geoff this was an amazing 1150 km solo walk from Sevilla to Santiago, Spain and then out to the west coast and for Annemarie this is represented by the fulfillment of a lifetime desire to visit New Zealand and Indonesia. In between, Australia will be the meat of the sandwich and we expect to be on the road for about 3 months Feb into early May next year. We expect to again visit with some dear friends met while walking the Camino Frances last fall together and have an opportunity to see these countries in various ways including some long walks. More information to follow, but the process began today as we booked our two tickets to Auckland New Zealand!!!
